“I first met my court outreach support worker who supported me with my protection order hearing. I honestly would not have been able to get through it without her. She met me for one-to-one’s for more support after that court hearing and I also got involved in the support group. I cannot begin to explain the impact of the support I received. Nobody else got it. Family rallied around but some friends walked away. I was an absolute mess and only for ANU, I have no doubt that my life would not be as good as it is today. Their knowledge, compassion and strength pushed me. The support group meeting other women in similar situations was so empowering and safe.”
