Digital abuse

Abuser uses digital media to harass, control and manipulate you. Also known as online abuse, or technology facilitated abuse (TFA), digital abuse includes almost every kind of abuse that can happen offline.


Includes online and technology abuse, online shaming and stalking and the non-consensual sharing of explicit images (‘revenge porn’).

* Sharing or threatening to share private pictures, videos or messages online – known as “Intimate Image Abuse”
* Online shaming
* Creating fake profiles to harass you or impersonate you
* Controlling your access to social media accounts or finances
* Controlling who you are allowed to be friends with
* Incessant contact – bombarding you with messages, expecting an immediate reply
* Denying you access to technology to isolate you
* Accessing your accounts without your knowledge consent, replying to friends and family as you

* Location sharing – needing to know where you are ALL the time
* Sending abusive messages to threaten / harass you and/or your family/friends
